02. The Troupe
الحكايةOne line. One land. Every step tells a story.
Aswat Al Ard, Voice of the Land, is a Palestinian debka troupe at UNC Charlotte. Debka is the line dance of the Levant: shoulders locked, feet stomping, the whole line moving as one. It is how a crowd becomes a community.
The line is open to anyone willing to learn the step. No auditions, no experience needed. Show up and we will teach you the rest.
